Hungarian mega terminal now connected to main European hubs

The Hungarian subsidiary of EUROGATE will connect the new East-West Gate terminal in Fényeslitke with its rail network. EUROGATE Rail Hungary (ERH)will offer connections to Fényeslitke from destinations in Germany (Hamburg, Duisburg and Munich), Austria (Vienna), Hungary (Budapest) and Romania (Arad). The two parties signed a cooperation agreement on 1 June to this extend.

The agreement allows ERH customers to use EWG’s transhipment and storage services. In addition to rail logistics cooperation, the agreement also includes technology knowledge transfer. Since the development of the new terminal, East West Gate has build up experience with 5G networks, remote crane operation, virtual simulation and other modern logistics advancements.

The agreement was signed by Christopher Beplat, Managing Director at EGIM and board member of ERH, and János Tálosi, CEO of East-West Intermodal Logistics Ltd.

“We are very pleased to enter this partnership with EWG. Through this agreement, we are not only offering our customers access to new key markets, but we are also working to stay at the forefront of our industry with EWG’s valuable technology insights”, says Christopher Beplat.
