Boeing undertakes to supply commercial aircraft ready to operate on 100% sustainability

Boeing has set an aspiring goal to improve commercial aviation’s long-lasted sustainability and dedicated to fly with 100% renewable aviation fuels by 2030 for its commercial aircraft, with proper certification. In the past, the aerospace firm has effectually performed test flights substituting petrol jet fuel with100% sustainable fuel to overcome the pressing problems of environmental change.

Sustainable aviation fuels are known for being the safest and most measurable solution to reduce aviation carbon emissions in the future. The Air Transport Action Group, US Department of Energy and many other scientific studies have reported that sustainable aviation fuels can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 80% over the fuel life cycle. It is even possible that this number can hit an amazing 100% in the future.

Today, sustainable aviation fuels are directly mixed up with 50/50 blend with traditional jet fuel, the highest allowed under the current fuel specifications. In the interest of meeting aviation’s commitment for reducing carbon emissions by 50% from 2005 levels by 2050, Airplanes require the capability to fly on 100% sustainable aviation fuels well before 2050.
