Alternative drive systems in logistics – GEFCO
| GEFCO certainly is committed to innovation to find more effective and environmentally friendly solutions and therefore is continuing to explore the use of cleaner alternatives to diesel. As part of their ongoing efforts, GEFCO is now completing the tests with natural liquified gas (LNG). This initiative is in line with an ambitious CSR strategy based on a sustainable supply chain solution. The first test results of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) proved to be favourable and confirm not only the environmental benefits but also the operational capabilities. The tests were carried out on GEFCO’s three usual international routes, LNG truck covered a total of 8,460 km in three weeks. The average consumption is 15% lower than the current consumption of diesel trucks, which means less emissions and lower costs. Detailed test results are currently being processed by GEFCO and data from the tractor’s telemetry system is expected, as well as a comparison of the tractor’s direct consumption. Read more here👇👇👇 |
