The alternatives to Suez Canal
| Although the Egyptians have successfully resolved the Ever Given blockage of the Suez Canal within a week, we can not turn away from the fact that it had completely blocked all other shipping for six days. The incident has definitely brought certain speculations and even opened a discussion about the sea routes. Alternatives such as Israel’s Ben Gurion canal project resurfaced. This project would link the Red Sea to the Mediterranean. The Israelis are promoting their projected Ben Gurion waterway as a rival to the Suez Canal and stating all the advantages and reasons why the project should be considered. Whether the Israeli canal project will win the approval of countries such as Saudi Arabia is questionable. Read more here👇👇👇 |
