Vaccine flights: Air cargo plunges into action
As more products are brought out and more countries launched vaccination programmes, the air cargo plunges into action. From April until now, there has been huge progress. A Covid-19 distribution vaccine update from the air cargo and logistics sector as per below: FEBRUARY 26: Kuehne+Nagel soundly assisted Sinovac Biotech Ltdfulfill its first Covid-19 vaccine shipment from Beijing, China to the Dominican Republic. The 768,000 vials of the Covid-19 vaccine were transformed in this pilot shipment and arrived safely in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, just before its Independence Day. April 1: Emirates SkyCargo is the first airline cargo carrier in the world to have transported more than 50m doses of Covid-19 vaccines on its flights. Emirates SkyCargo has transported over 220 tonnes of Covid-19 vaccines until now. APRIL 28: Latam Airlines announced it will continue to transport vaccines at no cost this year. All thanks to its Solidarity Plane programme. The carrier has transported more than 23.7m Covid-19 vaccines to destinations in South America, including Brazil, Chile, Ecuador and Peru until now.
