Prague Airport received the prestigious Digital Transformation Award
Prague Airport, The largest international airport in the Czech Republic won the Digital Transformation Award for a set of innovative solutions that improve check-in efficiency and operational safety. The expert jury praised not only the unique AeroTrafficPRG web application, which ensures a perfect overview of the situation at the airport for all drivers, but also the advanced meteorological module and other innovations. |
Prague Airport has once again confirmed that it is among the leaders in the field of innovation. Last year, Prague Airport was also awarded in the HR Excellence Award category, where it received the Highly Commended award for talent recruitment and employee care. “I am glad that we succeeded in the strong competition of innovative projects from all over Europe. We have used the latest digital innovations and technologies to increase operational safety. I believe that these projects will also help us to make the daily operation of the airport more efficient. The advantage is that our innovative solutions are universal and, if interested, can be applied to airports all over the world,” says Jiří Pos, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Prague Airport. Prague Airport received an award for the AeroTrafficPRG web application, the meteorological module in the PRINCE application, the AutoTOBT module ensuring, through a unique algorithm, the prediction of the end of aircraft ground handling and the ISH platform enabling extremely fast data sharing with systems within the company and with external partners. The AeroTrafficPRG web application is developed for all standard web browsers. It uses the background map of the airport and, thanks to the connection with radars, offers a perfect overview of the situation at the airport. The application alerts the driver to an approaching aircraft when crossing taxiways, or when entering the runway and its protective zone. At the same time, it warns drivers of airport vehicles about thunderstorms or strong winds. The application is available to vehicle drivers thanks to clear tablets. The advanced meteorological module is part of the PRINCE – Prague Information Cockpit Ecosystem application, which enables real-time monitoring and management of traffic at Václav Havel Airport Prague. This common platform contains not only information about the weather, but also about all flights and check-ins. The meteorological module offers an overview of the current weather, the outlook for the next 5 days and historical data. It also warns users about thunderstorms or strong winds. The Digital Transformation Award is announced by the joint initiative of ACI Europe (International Association of European Airports) and the SESAR Joint Undertaking (Joint Enterprise for Single European Sky Research). |
