DB Schenker invests in the sustainable future in Norway

DB Schenker, a German logistics company has a clear aim in mind while strengthening its position in the Norwegian market. One of those is to achieve emission-free deliveries in all major Norwegian cities by the end of 2021.

Oslo City Hub, the world’s first green distribution center of its kind established in May 2019, is living proof of the company´s successful green experience. It was constructed from containers and organized for effective goods handling. Only a year later all of the local delivery vehicles were changed from diesel – to electric drive. This practice will be expanded to other Norwegian cities soon as part of sustainable plans.

The investment in sustainable urban distribution will continue as DB Schenker is going to roll out 25 new additional electric trucks and vans throughout the country this spring. The electric fleet will contribute to a significant CO2 reduction in Norway.

This ambitious goal of zero-emission deliveries for its city distribution operations does not end here. Electric-powered cargo bicycles for the city distribution is another great initiative of DB Schenker. By the end of 2021, the company will be using 5 electric bikes in Oslo.
